For over 25 years we have worked with nonprofit organizations. At one time, I was the business manager of a school district. For another period of time, I was the business manager for a very large fraternal organization. I worked for three other public accounting firms. I loved accounting and nonprofits. One thing led to another and I decided to get my CPA, open up our own firm and do audits for nonprofits. Seemed pretty natural. The choice wasn't by accident. I find the groups compelling. Nonprofits have great enthusiasm for their mission and it's fun to hear about their work. Most welcome a seasoned professional for accounting advice and audits. I try to make life better at the nonprofit level by offering a good product, some educational support as needed, lots of respect every step of the way and lastly by trying to take the pain out of an experience that is necessary but sometimes not pleasurable.
