Brown Land Surveying, LLC. is a family owned company that seeks to provide the best surveying services in our community. Joseph Brown, Registered Land Surveyor, has the education and experience you seek when searching for a surveyor to work on your commercial or residential property. Our dedicated team will do whatever it takes to get you the services you need at a price that is fair. Joseph graduated Dickson County High School in 1997. He went on to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin where he was seeking a degree in Engineering. During summer internships, he decided to pursue Land Surveying. He then moved to Johnson City, TN to attend East Tennessee State University (ETSU), the only accredited college of Land Surveying in Tennessee. He received a Bachelor of Science in Surveying and Mapping in 2002. While attending ETSU, he did an internship with Alley & Associates in Kingsport, TN, where he continued to work until moving to Knoxville, TN in 2005. He worked as a Registered Land Surveyor at Vision Engineering & Surveying until moving to Dickson, TN in 2007 to open Brown Land Surveying, LLC. The services we provide are boundary, topographic, mortgage, construction, and easement surveys, ALTA/ASCM, subdivisions, and flood certificates. Boundary Surveys: Survey defining boundary by metes and bounds description showing location of improvements, drainage, and encroachments. ALTA/ACSM: High order boundary survey for title purposes adopted by the American Land Title Association/American Congress of Surveying and Mapping. Topographic Surveys: Survey showing relief of land. Mortgage Surveys: Survey for bank or mortgage company showing boundary with improvements and encroachments thereon. Construction Surveying: Surveying for construction purposes. Examples include: setting grade stakes for road layout, utility layout, etc Subdivisions: Survey in which new lots are created or existing lots combined. Easement Surveys: Survey describing certain area located on real property for use of access or utility purposes. Flood Certificates: Survey certifying elevations to the nearest 1/10 foot at certain locations on house or structure in relationship to the base flood elevation for purposes of flood insurance.
